The dress

What do you think? Don't mind my missing head. I'm sure I'll find it before the rehearsal dinner. UPDATE: I want to explain I was never that into this dress... but my mom was with me when I tried it on and she was really rallying for me to buy it. Mom, what the heck?

That's a tough one! I really like it, it looks like an old fashioned flapper dress, but I think the flower on it makes it a little busy. I'd stitch rip it off if it's not too on there and then rock it.

I was also going to suggest trying to loose the flower. Otherwise, cute! I love the color!

I like the color, but I'm not so sure about the style.

Unless I am soon bombarded by insanely flattering comments about this dress (not likely), me thinks this dress is hailing the next taxi back to Macy's.

I like the style, but am also not sure about the flower. Really like the richness of the color, though!

LOVE the color and mermaid like scales on it but I agree with what everyone else said - the flower is just not doing it for me...

It's pretty, but I dont know if it's YOU. And you should wear something you love to your rehearsal dinner.

No on the flower.

And while the dress is nice and the sapphire color is stunning - is this THE DRESS that a certain spicy mergirl wants to rehearse her nuptials in? I ask YOU.

Then again, [perspective] it's only a dress and it's only a dinner - you'll be so focused on happiness it won't matter what you're wearing.

no peacock options?

I'm pretty "meh" about it. Although I think it's sweet & a nice color, I'm not sure if it's fun or young enough.

Perhaps your mom could wear it that night...?

: - )

You'll know when it's just THE right one for you. I didn't find mine until the night before and foud it {out of all places} Marshall's! It was a last resort.. but I ended up loving it!

i love the color.

i do not love the style. i think without the flower it would be better, but not better enough to fully cheer you on wearing it to your rehearsal dinner!

I love the colour. I love that the dress looks like a mermaid tail.
I do not so much love the flower.

You're way too cute to wear such a matronly dress! While it does look nice on you, it doesn't suit your personality. You need something a bit more funky and eclectic.

love the color but i agree with everyone else

I love the color, but the flower is a bit much . . . if you're not sure about it, you should probably just return it. You want to feel fabulous at your rehearsal and from what you've said this dress doesn't seem to be the right one.

I think I'm with everyone else-- love the color and the layers, lose the flowers. Also, is that an owl necklace I spy? Cute!

Well...you do go by Mermanda after all.

i agree with the prior comments that have been posted. the color is awesome, the layers on the bottom look cool, but the dress doesn't quite look like you.
hopefully we were good online-dressing-room critics... all in your best interest, of course! :)

i like it a lot! the layers make it look like a fish - but in the best possible way :)

i LOVE the dress. so much! but i do not love the rose, if there were any way to remove it then i think it would be perfect!

Gwen said...

I agree with everyone else - it's nice but not spectacular - and with your rocking hot little bod you should have spectacular.

The rose makes it matronly.

Send it back!

(I felt a little awkward being so honest but I think that's what you'd want. Right?)

Very cute! The color is fantastic on you.

I first saw the headless picture and thought "oh, that must be what her mom is wearing to the wedding." I think that says it all.

Katelin said...

is there any way to take the flower off? i think it would look a lot less busy without it and still very cute. you've definitely got the figure to rock that dress :)

I love the shape and color! Way cute on you!

It is a nice dress but I don't think it fits your personality, I mean your personality as I have gathered from the internet

Love the colour, do not love the cut or flower :( *shakes finger at your mom in a mother-disciplining-child way*

I'm sure you'll find something cute in time! Possibly when you find your head.

Hey! As Mermanda's Momma, I think I'm getting a bad rap. I don't recall insisting that the dress be purchased. I learned that lesson when she was in Junior High. Flower or no flower, can I help it if my daughter looks adorable in that dress and I told her so?? And we didn't even get a head shot. Not nice to blame the Momma... XOXOXO, Mumsie

Okay, I have to agree with some of the others. I LOVE the color, and really like the dress itself (it has scales like a mermaid!), however, I'm a bit anti-the flower. It's too much with it. Otherwise, I do like it!

The dress was probably super cute on the hanger, but does not flatter you. Dresses really are assholes like that....

michelle woo said...

It's very mermaid-ish. :)

I think you can find something sexier. Tastefully sexy, of course.

In fear of sounding like a parrot, I do really like the color. But I'm not sure about the shape. While it's definitely a decent dress, there are other dresses that I think would be much more flattering on you.

:)
